General Questions
The following steps can be followed to configure Microsoft Outlook 2007/2010 connectivity to GCM Total Solutions e-mail solution. These steps will provide access to use Microsoft Outlooks offline/cached:
Step 1 - When you launch Microsoft Outlook you should see the wizard startup.
Step 2 - Confirm you wish to configure an Exchange account.
Step 3 - Choose manual configuration
Step 4 - Choose Microsoft Exchange
Step 5 - Enter server name and user name provided. Click More Settings (DO NOT CLICK NEXT)
Step 6 - Select "Connect to Microsoft Exchange using HTTP" and click "Exchange Proxy Settings"
Step 7 - Fill in the information as seen below. Click OK twice to get back the screen in step 5.
Step 8 - Click on "Check Name" in screen shot from step 5.
Step 9 - When prompted, supply your username and password. Note the username will be gcm\<username>.
Step 10 - When successful, notice the server name and user name get resolved and have an underline under them. Click Next twice and finish configuration.
Contact Manager
Export your contacts from your existing contact application (i.e. Hotmail, GMail, GCM, etc.).
From the Contact Manager, select Import from the left menu. From the import screen select the type of file you wish to import (i.e. Hotmail, GMail, GCM, etc.) and click the browse button to find the file you exported from your other contact application.
Click finish to import the contacts.
Membership Manager
Mailing labels can be printed from the Membership Manager under reports. The mailing labels are formatted for Avery 5160 Size Labels.
Additionally, the following step needs to be performed when printing.
1. Open Report
2. Select File | Print
on the resulting dialog box under Page Scaling, change Reduce to Printer Margins to None.
Labels print outside the normal margin area of an 8 x 11 piece of paper failure to change the printing option will cause the labels to not align on the printer correctly.
No, all passwords are encrypted in the database.
However, passwords can easily be reset from the membership manager. Simply login with administrative privileges and view the details of a specific member. Click on the security tab and change or reset the password back to the default.
Resetting a password is done easily from the Membership Manager. Click on Membership Manager from the main menu.
1. Search for the member you wish to reset the password for.
2. Edit the user's record
3. Click on Security and enter the password
If you are missing the security option this is because the user account you are logged in as someone who is not an administrator account.
Security Manager
New to GCM Total Solutions is the use of the new Security Manager. The Security Manager allows you to set rights per user/per application. The following is a breakdown of each set of rights.

Can edit/change anything within the system.

When a user is assigned to multiple groups they will given permissions of the lowest group. For example, if a user is assigned to be Membership e-mail and Membership Power User they will be given the permissions for e-mail user only.
Tournament Manager
Stableford scoring systems are stroke-play formats in which the high total wins, not the low. That's because in Stableford, your final score is not your stroke total, but rather the total points you have earned for your scores on each individual hole.
The following scoring system is used all Stableford Scoring
Score per Hole: Points:
Double Eagle: + 8 points
Eagle: + 5 points
Birdie: +3 points
Par: 0 points
Bogey: - 1 point
Dbl Bogey (or worse) - 2 points
Chicago scoring systems are stroke-play formats in which the high total wins, not the low. That's because in Chicago, your final score is not your stroke total, but rather the total points you have earned for your scores on each individual hole.
The following point system is used for Chicago Scoring:
Score per Hole: Points:
Eagle or Better: 5 points
Birdie: 3 points
Par: 1 point
Bogey or Worse: 0 points
Vegas is a two-person game where you create the lowest two digit score between you and your partner per hole, based on your net or gross scores, lowest total score wins.
For example. On Hole #1
- Player A = Net 4
- Player B = Net 6
- Vegas Score = "46"
Tally all holes together to get the vegas score. Additionally, a maximum score of 9 per hole is used for scoring.
Criss Cross is an 18-hole tournament format in to compare corresponding scores on their scorecard and choose the lower of two scores, resulting in a 9-hole total score.
Front 9 holes are paired up with the corresponding Back 9 hole. For example, No. 1 and No. 10 as a pair, No. 2 and No. 11, No. 3 and No. 12, and so on up to No. 9 and No. 18.
Yes. When setting up the tournament you are asked to select how to pair the tee times for your event. You have the option to setup tee times by teams or individuals and how many of those teams/individuals on each tee.
For example, if you wanted 4 players per tee time for an individual tournament you would select Pair by Individuals and select 4 for the number per tee.
If you wanted 4 players per tee time for a two-person team event, you would select Pair by Team and select 2 for the number per tee (2 per team * 2 teams = 4 players).
If you are creating a shotgun tournament and expect to have more than one foursome per tee box (i.e. Hole 1A, Hole 1B, etc.) you would still selected 4 total players per tee time. The system would randomly assign the players to the holes including any holes that might have more than one set of tee times per hole.
To use the self registration/tee time select feature a tournament must be setup correctly. The following features must be set in the tournament manager during creation/setup of a tournament.
NOTE: The new tee time select feature only works with individual player events. Team events do not work.
Create New Tournament
- Set "Players/Teams per Tee Time" to number of players per tee time
- Set "Max Players" to the maximum number of players allowed
- Set "Indvidual Tee Time Self Signup" to Yes
Edit New Tournament Created
- Select Tee Times
- Select Auto Pair Tee Times
- Select Round 1
- Choose anything for "Pair Teams Based On" or "Pair Flights Together" to anything.
- Choose the "Starting Tee"
- Enter the "Starting Tee Time" in the hh:mm AM|PM format. (i.e. 9:30 AM)
- Enter the interval in minutes between tee times
When players register for tournaments they will be presented with the option to choose the time during registration. If players do not select a time the tournament administrator would need to select the time.
